1993年10月12日、シドニー郊外のクロヌラで、アイルランド系オーストラリア人の父親と元日本チャンピオンの母親の間に生まれる。サーファーの両親の影響で、幼少期からサーフィンに親しむ。2017年より世界最高峰のツアーであるワールドサーフリーグ（WSL）チャンピオンシップツアーに参戦、同年ルーキーオブザイヤーを獲得。長身の体格を活かした力強いサーフィンが特徴。
2023年に選手登録をオーストラリアから日本に変更。2024年3月にパリオリンピック日本代表に選出され、初出場となるオリンピックで金メダルを目指している。

Born on October 12, 1993 in Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia, Connor O'Leary's surfing journey began under the influence of his Irish-Australian father and Japanese surfing champion mother. Joining the prestigious World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour in 2017, he quickly rose to prominence, winning Rookie of the Year. Connor's tall frame contributes to his powerful surfing style. In 2023, he switched his national representation from Australia to Japan, aiming to deepen his connection to his maternal heritage. Selected to represent Japan in upcoming international competitions, Connor aspires to bring home gold, showcasing his talent and honoring his dual cultural identity through surfing.
