1993年10月12日、シドニー郊外のクロヌラで、アイルランド系オーストラリア人の父親と元日本チャンピオンの母親の間に生まれる。サーファーの両親の影響で、幼少期からサーフィンに親しむ。2017年より世界最高峰のツアーであるワールドサーフリーグ（WSL）チャンピオンシップツアーに参戦、同年ルーキーオブザイヤーを獲得。長身の体格を活かした力強いサーフィンが特徴。
2023年に選手登録をオーストラリアから日本に変更。タヒチで行われたパリ2024オリンピックサーフィン競技に日本代表として初出場を果たした。

Born on October 12, 1993 in Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia, Connor O'Leary's surfing journey began under the influence of his Irish-Australian father and Japanese surfing champion mother. Joining the prestigious World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour in 2017, he quickly rose to prominence, winning Rookie of the Year. Connor's tall frame contributes to his powerful surfing style. In 2023, he switched his national representation from Australia to Japan, aiming to deepen his connection to his maternal heritage. Connor represented Japan at the Paris 2024 Olympics and aspires to continue chasing a gold medal while honoring his dual cultural identity.
